A Journey Fueled by God’s Favor

“For You are the glory of their strength, and in Your favor our horn is exalted.”

Psalm 89:17 NKJV

In the coming weeks, the Greater Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, will mark 18 years of God’s bountiful blessings. Affectionately called GGG, Greater Gold Gate held its first worship service in the chapel of Sandra Clark Funeral Home on October 28, 2000. In September on 2001 the church moved into its present facility at 9333 Ferguson Road. In November of that year the church elected Rev. Fabian K. Jacko as their first pastor. Following the guidance of the Holy Spirit Rev. Jacko has led the church ever since and God has been faithful.

Over the years the GGG family has continued to grow and thrive even as the church world experiences a “falling away from the church.” The East Dallas church, located near White Rock Lake, has more than 30 active ministries for men, women, children and youth, strong Bible teaching and preaching. The church takes seriously the divine mandate to evangelize and is actively involved with the Coalition of Churches in Prison Ministry. The Men’s Ministry leads a monthly ministry at Lennwood Nursing and Rehab in DeSoto and the church’s Overcomers Program meets each Saturday at the church.

When asked about the church’s impact in the community Pastor Jacko stated, “This world is a wilderness. And like John the Baptist, every wilderness needs a voice.” Any given Sunday his voice can be heard singing God’s praises and preaching His Word. “God promised to be with His church . . . He hasn’t let us down,” said Jacko. “So, we don’t plan to let Him down.” The church motto reflects its vison, “GGG – Going with God, Growing in Grace and Glowing with His Light!” As the church gathers to give thanks to God for His unmerited favor, let us join them as they look towards Him for a very bright and bold future. Happy Anniversary, Greater Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church!
