“If you can walk, you can dance” West African Proverb
West African dance is the heartbeat of the family and the community. West African dance is alive in America. It’s all about the moves,
the rhythms and the rituals that have survived enslavement, cultural appropriation and campaigns to malign African culture.
Join us in learning more about our culture and how dance and drumming are intimate parts of our spiritual being. Our drum/dance rituals help us celebrate childhood
as we grow into womanhood/manhood. With dance we welcome visitors and all people of good will into our community.
And dancing and drumming will help us protect ourselves against hostile forces.
Join us every Saturday morning as we embrace traditional West African culture.
