PARKER, HOLCOMBE NAMED BOXTOROW ALL-AMERICANS

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – DB Ju’Anthony Parker and TE Zarrian Holcombe were named to the BOXTOROW All-American Team.


Parker (5-11, 165; Jr., Dallas, Texas) was named to the team for the second straight year as he tied for second in the SWAC in interceptions, tied for second in the league in pass breakups with nine, and led the conference in passes defensed with 12 while making 26 tackles on the season. Parker, a two-time first team All-SWAC selection, made three tackles and a fourth-quarter interception leading to the game-clinching touchdown vs. N.C. Central in the MEAC-SWAC Challenge. Later in September, Parker made three tackles and the game-winning interception in fourth quarter vs. Grambling.


Holcombe (6-6, 235; Jr, Houston, Texas) was named to the BOXTOROW team for the first time as he made 26 catches for 350 yards and is tied for first in the conference with seven touchdowns. Holcombe, a first-team All-SWAC selection, caught a touchdown pass in four straight games (at Sam Houston, at UNLV, at UAPB, vs. Grambling). Holcombe had career highs in catches (nine), receiving yards (77) and touchdowns (two) at Jackson St.
