PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Prairie View A&M freshmen softball player Brelyn Senegal earned her first Southwestern Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

Senegal, from Nearby Spring, Texas has a been hitting a .250 thus far on the season, after just playing in 13 of Prairie View A&M’s 29 games.


Senegal accomplished her career high’s during the Lady Panthers dominate 13-4 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last Wednesday. In her three at-bats, she earned two hits recording a career-high seven RBIs. She also hit her first collegiate home run and a grand slam.

Senegal also earned the College Sports Madness SWAC Softball Player of the Week honors.

Prairie View A&M softball will return to action when they host Southern University for a three-game weekend series at the PVAMU Softball Field March 12-13 with the first pitch on Friday at 1 p.m.
