Friends and Neighbors,

I am contacting you to share the press release below that was issued last week by the City of Dallas. Social, economic and environmental justice are of critical importance to me and to the citizens of District 8. When businesses in close proximity to neighborhoods are found to be operating improperly, causing harm to quality of life and especially health and safety, we must stand up for justice.

An industrial recycling company in my district, operating with a permit I did not approve, has created not only an eyesore - a mountain of asphalt shingles - but also an environmental hazard for people who live nearby.

The city of Dallas will be taking this company to court on March 22. I will be vigilant in doing all that I can to achieve a resolution, so that the rights of the people impacted are respected and upheld. This situation has gone on too long.
