WOMEN’S BASKETBALL LOOK TO KEEP THINGS ROLLING AS THEY TRAVEL TO ARKANSAS PINE BLUFF

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Prairie View A&M women’s basketball team will look to keep its momentum going as they travel to the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Monday for an opening tip set for 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Panthers control the all-time series against UAPB 34-11, which includes two straight wins last season.  PVAMU defeated the Lady Golden Lions at their place 89-72 and at the William J. Nicks building with a 64-52 win. Shala Dobbins scored a season high of 40 points in the win at UAPB last season.


Dobbins and Artavia Ford continue to lead the Lady Panthers in scoring.  Dobbins is averaging 14.1 points per game, while Ford is averaging 11.1.  Ke’Asia Williams leads the Lady Panthers on the boards averaging 6.4 rebounds per game. 


A trio of players has led the Lady Golden Lions on offense this season, including Noe’ll Taylor and Kyeonia Harris.  Taylor is averaging a team high of 8.2, with Harris following close behind averaging 7.9 points per game. Shawntayla Harris has also put up some solid numbers as she has averaged 7.8 points and a team-leading 6.5 rebound per game.
